What does Somni do?

It is a dream journal you speak into. Open it, tap record, say the dream while you still have it, and Somni transcribes it. You can then ask for a reading: what the dream appears to be about, the symbols in it, how it felt, and a question to sit with. Symbols that recur across nights show up in Patterns.

Do I need an account?

No, and there isn't one to make. Somni has no sign-up and no login of any kind.

What devices does it run on?

iPhone, iOS 18 or later. Reading dreams on the device needs Apple Intelligence, which requires iPhone 15 Pro or later on iOS 26. On an iPhone without it, the journal, recording, search, Patterns and export all work exactly the same, and readings come from a hosted model instead.

Does it work offline?

Recording, transcription, the journal, search and export always work offline. On a device with Apple Intelligence, so do the readings — the whole app works in airplane mode. Hosted readings need a connection; a dream requested offline is queued, not lost.

Is my dream sent anywhere?

On a device with Apple Intelligence, no — the reading is written on your iPhone. On a device without it, the dream's text is sent to a hosted model, with email addresses and phone numbers stripped out first. Audio is never sent on any path. The privacy policy describes exactly what is transmitted and what is kept.

Where are my dreams stored, and do they sync?

On your iPhone, and in your own private iCloud database, so they appear on your other devices signed in to the same Apple ID. That is your iCloud, not our server — we have no way to read it.

Is the audio kept?

Not by default. The recording is deleted once the dream is transcribed. If you want to keep recordings to play back later, switch on Keep audio in Settings; they then stay on the device and are excluded from iCloud backup.

What is free, and what does Premium add?

Recording, the journal, search, Patterns and export are free forever, with no limit. On a device with Apple Intelligence, readings are also unlimited and free, because running them on your phone costs nothing.

Only hosted readings are metered. Somni Premium removes that limit and unlocks the full symbol map. It comes as:

• Weekly — auto-renewing, with a three-day free trial.
• Yearly — auto-renewing, and much better value than weekly.
• Lifetime — one payment, no renewal.

How do I cancel?

Open Settings on your iPhone → tap your name → Subscriptions → Somni → Cancel Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancelling during the free trial costs nothing, as long as you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find Somni in your purchase history and request a refund. Apple decides according to their policy.

I got a new iPhone — how do I restore Premium?

Open Somni, go to the paywall from Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. Signed in with the Apple ID that bought it, your subscription reactivates.

Transcription got a word wrong.

Tap the dream and edit the text — the transcript is a draft, not a record. Editing a dream and asking again produces a fresh reading rather than a cached one.

Can I get my dreams out?

Yes, from Settings, as a file you keep. Export is free and is not behind the subscription — your journal should never be hostage to a renewal.

Is this therapy?

No. Somni is for reflection and curiosity. It does not diagnose anything and does not predict anything. If a dream is connected to something you are genuinely struggling with, please talk to someone qualified.
