Dreams evaporate in about ninety seconds. Somni opens straight into a recorder, so you can say it half-awake and read it later. Then it gives you a reading: what the dream seems to be about, the symbols in it, how it felt, and one question worth sitting with.

One tap to record. Transcription happens on the phone, and a capture is never discarded — a failed transcription still saves the audio and the entry.

It remembers
Symbols that recur across nights are surfaced in Patterns, so the water that keeps coming back is visible as a pattern rather than a feeling.
English and Russian
Fully localized, including dictation, and the reading is written in the language of the dream.
The dream never leaves the phone
Every dream app encrypts and then uploads, because a cloud model is on the other end. On an iPhone with Apple Intelligence, Somni's reading is generated by the on-device model — there is no server in the loop at all, not an encrypted one. You can interpret a dream in airplane mode.
There is no account and no sign-in, anywhere in the app. Your journal is stored on your device and synced through your own private iCloud, which we cannot read. Audio is deleted after transcription unless you turn on “keep audio”, and even then it stays on the device.
On a device that cannot run Apple Intelligence, readings can be generated by a hosted model instead. That path sends the dream's text — never the audio — and strips email addresses and phone numbers first. It is described exactly in the privacy policy.
Free, and Premium
Recording, the journal, search, Patterns, and export are free forever. On a device with Apple Intelligence, readings run locally and are unlimited and free too — that costs nothing to run, so it isn't metered.
Only hosted readings are metered. Somni Premium lifts that limit and is sold weekly (with a three-day free trial), yearly, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Manage or cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
A note on what this is
Somni is for reflection and curiosity. It is not therapy, it does not diagnose anything, and it will not tell you what is going to happen. Dreams about death, illness or harm are handled plainly and without prediction, on purpose.
